Having had a short flight that ended in a bottom landing earlier in the week, I was determined to return to the Devil’s Dyke in more favourable conditions. With an afternoon off work, and moderate north westerly wind, I was back at the Devil’s Dyke.

After I had rigged and checked over my glider, I launched and climbed above the ridge with moderate ease. It’s often quiet mid-week flying but the few pilots that were flying had disappeared down to Truleigh Hill leaving me to enjoy the airspace above the Devil’s Dyke to myself! I was happy as I boated back and forth above the Devil’s Dyke pub, still flying a little way out from the hill, but easily staying up. After about 40 minutes I decided to try another top landing but for some reason, the Paddock looked uncomfortably small so I opted to land in the larger field at the back.
