As I began to collect my gear and put it back in the van I noticed
my glider had vanished! I asked Nicos where it had gone and he
smirked and informed me that Maciej had set off up the hill with it!
13 August 2017 - B****cks!
That was the point of no return; despite plenty of opportunity to
prevent it, I had now set in motion a sequence of events that I would
later come to regret...
1 July 2017 - An Early Flight
Luke Nicol was out with Airsports Sussex doing tandem flights on
his rigid wing. At one point he swooped beneath me in an overtake
manoeuvre that gave his passenger quite an experience; I saw him
glance back up at me with a cheeky smirk on his face which I
acknowledged with a wave...
18 June 2017 - Aerotowing
Is Aerotowing a dying art of hang gliding? The Southern Aerotow
Group has struggled over the last two years to gain momentum, in part
due to an aging tug fraught with problems, a not so ideal flying site
and diminishing numbers attending the infrequent flying days...
10 April 2017 - Devil's Dyke
I normally connect with something at Truleigh Hill, but today was a
total disaster – any bit of lift was met with an equal amount of sink
moments later. The result of which meant I had to spend most of my
time scratching back and forth, sometimes flying a little closer to
the hill than comfortable...
1 December 2016 - Barry Knows Best
Barry Knows Best is probably one of the most famous single tracks
in the Surrey Hills and I confess to it being one of mine too...
13 November 2016 - New Duration Personal
With the whole Truleigh Ridge working for most of the day, it's no

It's a times like that, that I wished I'd attached the camera to the
23 October 2016 - Sedgwick Park to Monks
A blast on my mountain bike down one of my local down-hills to try
out my new video camera and chest mount.
11 October 2016 - U2 Service
I haven't had nowhere as much use of my U2 as I'd have liked so
wasn't really over concerned about delaying the side wire replacement
beyond the 12 months as recommended by Wills Wing...
7 October 2016 - Aerotow Demonstration at
Ringmer Gliding Club
As the day drew to a close, the chairman of the gliding club was
treated to a ride on the tug and the day was concluded. There was
certainly a very positive feeling from all parties and in conclusion,
it was successful afternoon...
2 October 2016 - The Early Bird Gets The
I was surprised that no-one else had attempted the Truleigh Run,
but as I set out on the Truleigh Ridge and started hitting sink with
minimal lift to reward me, I realised that the Truleigh Run was going
to be hard work...
18 September 2016 - A Simple Sled Ride
Unfortunately, the top of the hill was dipping into the base of the
clouds so it would be a wait for the cloud to lift...
