This web site was designed and developed by Dan Hamblin and was originally used as a means of learning HTML and JavaScript. More recently, as the website has become more of a 'proper' website, attention has been drawn to PHP, Java and various other web technologies. Today, the objectives are still the same but it's also aimed that information presented here may be of use to the viewing public.
The web site was originally developed by encoding the HTML using Windows Notepad. Today, the web site is edited in very much the same way however, the preferred HTML editor is 1st Page 2000, provided free from EvrSoft®.
The majority of the graphics throughout this website were created by myself using Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft’s Visual Studio and a few custom Visual Basic applications that I developed. Other pictures were taken from the scanner or from a digital camera. One or two other images were semi ripped from the Internet.
In 2004 the web site was relocated to the Easily web space provider as the 15 MB allowance from its former host Freeserve, was soon to be exceeded (too many pictures and MP3's!). At this point the website became known as Morphic. Why? Well simply put, Morphic was an available domain name that I considered to be more memorable than some obscure random series of characters!
The majority of what you see within this website is generated by JavaScript once each page has downloaded to your computer. The JavaScript is responsible for rendering the tabs at the top of each page and the footer at the bottom. The website has been constructed in this way to facilitate ease of editing, that is, to change many pages I only have to edit one bit of JavaScript.
On certain pages a theme image is display along the left side. This image is a random selection from a library of images so each time you visit that respective page it should look a little different.
In a select few other pages (I’m not going to let on which ones) additional information may appear informing you of hidden secrets called Easter Eggs.
